This is a night cream formulated with an AHA that will leave you with soft as a newborn baby skin.  The idea with AHA is they create an acidic environment on the skin that breaks down the top layers leaving you with fresh new skin.  There is some concern about photosensitivity with AHAs so this is why it is a night cream.  The AHAs are at 8%.
